CD Design - Simpler is Better

In CD packaging your band name or even "brand name" will help define you. Capturing the attention of your audience with a dramatic or compelling image may help evoke the essence of the project. 

Before you are a known entity you often only have an instant to get noticed... so make it count. The simpler layout is often better and with music packaging, a photograph of the artist on a CD cover is often compelling enough. Keeping it simple yet poignant and ultimately true to the intent of the project. 

Like anything, finding the balance of images and information can make or break the effectiveness of conveying a concept.
